The room was okay, but it was noisy, and the reception service was nowhere near the quality you’d expect from such an expensive room. The location also felt miles away from a sense of safety. The bigger problem was being charged twice. I booked and paid through booking after booking offered us a really cheap price, which is why I chose the hotel. When we arrived, they said there’d been a booking mistake and demanded another $23 for the room. We refused and said we’d already paid, and that sorting it out with booking was their business. They agreed to let us check in and spend the night. In the morning, they demanded $27 before letting us check out. They claimed they’d told us the night before that we’d have to pay, but they hadn’t. They treated us like criminals and kept us waiting for phone calls for half an hour, even though we were in a hurry to go on a tour. Since they wouldn’t let us leave and we didn’t want to miss it, we ended up paying. I hope we get a refund from booking, because they offered a price that apparently wasn’t right. The tour I’d also booked through booking was a separate letdown. We’d already paid, but nobody showed up at the pickup point. We paid for the room just to make the tour on time, and then couldn’t go anyway. What a shame!

Right in the CBD, so it’s really convenient. Lovely hotel with friendly staff.

Accommodation is available, and you can order drinks along with your meal. The food is amazing, prices on the menu are friendly, and the service is quite good. A cool place to hang out when you’re around town.

My mum had come off a long trip and was tired, so I booked her a room. The receptionist just sat there and didn’t speak to them for a long time. She was tired and surprised, so she walked out at 9 o’clock at night and found a room at another hotel. The Sheraton Mombasa branch is polite and offers great service.
