Sky Hotel Nairobi

We travelled a long way and would definitely consider staying here again. The breakfast was good, and the whole stay felt comfortable because the staff were so helpful. Manager Jared shared lots of information about Nairobi, and receptionist Lillian was there whenever we needed anything. They went out of their way to help and were kind to everyone staying here. Great work, guys.

After a wonderful holiday in Zanzibar, our week here was a shock 🤣 The toilets were very dirty, the water was sometimes not hot, and the towels and bed linen didn't look very fresh. At night it was really noisy: the hotel is inside a local mall, near a local market that runs nonstop 🙈 Maybe Indian visitors would enjoy the place, but for us it was a stressful experience.

There are several businesses right around the hotel, including bakeries and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, accessible, and affordable for the accommodation, security, and location. Rooms are spacious, with modern bathrooms, a coffee table setup, a fridge, and lovely wardrobe furniture. Breakfast is provided, parking is free, and the elevator works.

The main problem was the roaches in our room. There were quite a lot, and they made the stay uncomfortable. There's no AC either, just a small pedestal fan. The room was otherwise decent and clean, with the basic things we needed, and they brought us a microwave when we asked. The hotel was always happy to handle our requests with a smile. The photos are a fair match for what you get. Mr Bernard picked us up at the airport, was friendly, and pointed out places of interest on the way, though the charge was overpriced. At the hotel Mr Jerard, the reception manager, was professional and friendly, showed us to the room, and gave us a quick tour. There’s a pharmacy, bakery, supermarket, and a couple of Indian vegetarian restaurants on site, plus a mall right beside the hotel with money exchange, pharmacies, restaurants, supermarkets, and other facilities. Security is pretty good, with the gates locked at night. The streets get dark at nightfall because there are no streetlights, but it felt safe. Overall, a safe hotel and city.
