The food was a real highlight. Everything tasted fresh, the meals were nicely presented, and there was a good range to choose from, especially at breakfast. My room was spacious, clean, and kept tidy by housekeeping, with a comfortable bed and the things I needed for a relaxing stay. At The Monarch Hotel Nairobi, the staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. They were attentive, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to visitors to Nairobi, for work or leisure.

The tour itself was nice, and the staff and management were great. But we were there for an industry visit from about 9am to 4pm and weren't even offered a small cup of water. We may not have been paying guests, but we were guests, and I expected some hospitality from a hospitality business. That's why my rating is 3/10.

The rooms were meticulous, the food was delicious, and the conference facilities met expectations. It's also a very quiet place. Staff were professional and quick to respond when we had concerns. I had a great stay and would visit again and recommend the facility. Cheers!

The entry gate staff were good, but the receptionist was rude and unwelcoming, which gave the place a negative feel. At check-in we were told breakfast was complimentary, then charged for it at checkout. The booking information also caused confusion: I thought I'd booked an air-conditioned room, but it turned out to have no AC, which was inconvenient. The rooms are small and have lots of mosquitoes, with no effective way to keep them away. This could be a great property if it were maintained professionally and the information were clear.

My 2017 visit was pleasant, but the stay in 2025 wasn't nearly as good. The hotel hasn't been maintained well and the quality has dropped considerably. The mattresses are very uncomfortable and need replacing, as does the room furniture. WiFi is very slow, and the TV is hard to operate. They really should upgrade the rooms.
