Tribe Hotel

I came here while in Nairobi for a function, and the arrangements were fantastic. The food and service were top notch, and the staff were humble and courteous. Hygiene clearly matters here, judging by the washrooms and kitchen and restaurant areas. The gym was good too. All in all, a great place, one of the best in town.

Breakfast was nice, and the customer service was pretty good. The shared spaces and breakfast area looked really nice, with the option to sit outside and eat. The room was fair. The water in the tub looked a bit yellow, though, and I’m not sure what was going on with that.

Village Market is just down the street, with shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a water park, so Tribe makes a handy base for exploring as well as relaxing. The hotel is in leafy Gigiri, Nairobi’s embassy district, and felt peaceful, about ten minutes from the city centre. Inside, the airy, open spaces have contemporary African art from across the continent, and the architecture feels organic, with hardly a straight line. Our split-level Loft Suite worked especially well, with separate areas for work and relaxing that made it both practical and indulgent. There’s a rooftop bar, a full-service spa, and an elaborate heated pool with a fireplace and submerged granite table. The stylish restaurant and high-ceilinged lobby lounge add to the relaxed luxury feel.

I was struck by the sleek architecture, natural decorations, and traditional artwork at Tribe hotel. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and I want to give special thanks to Virginiah, James, Josphat, and Charles for going above and beyond to make my stay memorable. It was an incredible experience.
