Ubora Place

We had a great end-of-year buffet lunch here. The decor looked just right, the music was good, and both the catering and food were great.

It has a cosy, homey feel, with a big living room, couches, dining table and TV. The house was someone's home before it became a meeting venue, and the bedrooms are available as bed and breakfast. It's a great place for groups who'd rather meet somewhere other than a restaurant, or hold a birthday, baby shower or bridal shower. Snacks are available when you book the space.

I'm very dissatisfied with how my booking inquiry was handled. I called at 11:42 a.m. to ask about availability for October 6, and Grace told me the place was free. She asked for my email so she could send the packages and other information. I told her I'd already reviewed them and wanted Buffet Option 3 for 15 people. She said she'd note that down, email me, and we'd finalize things after that. I told my team the date was available based on our call. Then, at 12:32 p.m., Grace texted to say October 6 had just been booked. Really? Your staff member had confirmed the space was available to me, then let someone else book it. When I followed up, she casually said I should have paid to secure the space. We hadn't discussed that, and I was waiting for the email she said she'd send. She hadn't mentioned payment on the phone either. I called several times, but no one answered, and I only got SMS messages. I expected the courtesy of a conversation and an explanation. Is this how you treat customers? Grace needs customer service training. The establishment presents itself positively, but interactions like this can leave customers feeling differently. This wasn't what I expected, and I'm waiting for a resolution.

We held a bridal shower here and were comfortable indoors even with the rain. The place was gorgeous, and the staff were helpful and considerate. Great venue.
