10/10
The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the rooms are remarkably spacious. We also found the hospitality warm, the pool refreshing, and the entertainment fun. The lively atmosphere made for a relaxing stay in Nakuru. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

2/10
The kids enjoyed splashing in the good swimming pool, and there are several activities for younger children. Breakfast was only alright, though, with cold wedges and fried eggs. We had already paid, so we stayed, but their refund policy was ridiculous, they keep 75%. The online photos may be about five years old and can be very misleading. I was eager to check out and head home, and I won’t return or recommend it. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, and the whole stay was below expectations with no value for money. The toilet cistern leaked all night, so I had to fix it myself to let my family rest. The inside room doorknob was broken, and there was no bulb in the corridor. In the morning, there was no water in the bathroom or toilet. I had to ask them to check and restore it. The kids’ area and pool were the bright spots, but the experience overall was underwhelming.

The food was great, and the staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I had a great time at Kivu and will definitely return.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. I pitched my tent here for the discounted rate of 500 KSh, though the regular price is 1000 KSh. They also let me use the shower in one of the rooms.

A nice spot to unwind and get lost in your thoughts. Too bad about the sound system, it needs an upgrade.
