Mara Enkajiang Tented Camp

Moses was attentive and very good. The rooms were unclean, especially the bathrooms and toilet, and loud music from the neighborhood kept me from getting a good night’s sleep. The food was the same every day and needs more variety and a better balance. There was no hot water, and bathing times kept being limited because they shut off the water supply from the main pipe.

We had a lovely time by the bonfire, and it was a pleasant stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful, especially in the evening, and the workers, including Moses and Silvia, were kind and helpful. The food was average. We came with friends a few days ago for a budget safari.

August 2024 The staff were always smiling and attentive, though the meals were ordinary. It was a tent camp with a simple bed and a clean bathroom. The restaurant served as the shared area and the only place with WiFi. There was no water in my toilet, and I had to tell the staff twice. Villagers may party with loud music until 4am, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. None of the meals arrived on time. They were always 15 minutes late. It might be more appropriate to put a tip box at reception instead of giving guests an envelope during breakfast, when they may not have cash with them. Also, it would be better to clear dishes after guests leave the table instead of coming back to check their plates.

I stopped at Mara Enkajiang for lunch and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor, with a good mix of local and international choices. The staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a lovely place to relax over a meal, with beautiful views that capture the Mara. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
