After three nights here, my partner and I wouldn’t come back. The tent felt too small for two, and the bed was awful, concave and uncomfortable, with old, dusty sheets, pillows, and mattress. The mosquito net was full of holes, so it didn’t do its job. The bathroom was worse, with broken or missing furniture, run-down facilities, and sometimes no hot water. Service didn’t meet the standard either. There was no daily cleaning, and the manager seemed to neglect guests’ needs and the general condition of a place that felt abandoned to inertia. The food was much the same each day, though mildly tasty. We also saw a couple of rats near the kitchen in the restaurant. Seriously insufficient, and I can’t recommend it.

The dining room is in a shared tent, and each tour group had its own cook. Monkeys from the area sometimes came by while people were eating. Our accommodation tent was cleaner and sturdier than I expected, with a neatly arranged little bathing and toilet area. I came for the Masa Marai migration, and Peter, our safari guide, kept going the extra mile to help us see as many animals and as much action as possible. I only had three days because of time constraints, but he packed in as much as he could. If you love wildlife, it’s worth visiting once. I’d go again, and stay longer next time.

The food was great, and the tents made a lovely, authentic base for the safari. We were welcomed by Masai members, which added to the feel of the place. We did have a couple of bathroom issues, and the electric generator was really loud, though having electricity was still better than none.

Being close to the park entrance was handy, and the staff were friendly. The food was delicious, too. But the bathroom had no toilet seat or brush, and there was no door to close it off from the rest of the tent, so there was basically no privacy. One other thing: if you ask a Masai for a tour of the nearby village, check the price first. They tried to charge us a very high amount.

The breakfast was just OK, and power is only available for a few hours in the morning. It goes off at night, leaving it pitch dark, so you have to use that short window to charge your phone and camera batteries. A Masai tribe helps secure the grounds at night. The place is a little way from the game park, but you can get there in a few minutes.
