The rooms are basic but very clean, and the bed was comfortable. They look out over a watering hole, so you might be lucky enough to see elephants. The lodge itself is a lovely thatched building with beautifully landscaped gardens, ideally placed near the Tsavo east gate. We stayed one night as part of our safari. Food was great and well cooked, and service was very good. I would've liked tea and coffee facilities in the room, but otherwise I'd recommend it.

There's a small waterpoint just outside the electric fence, where you can watch animals come to drink while you have your beer. Ask for a room near the fence. It costs more, but it's worth it. We loved this place. The boss is really funny and a great cook, and the food was amazing.

The garden and setting are lovely, especially the park view from the balcony with wild animals right there. The rooms themselves aren't good. Better beds, nicer sheets, and an improved shower would make this a four-star place.
