Jacaranda Beach Resort

The Swahili architecture of the Kenyan coast is beautifully reflected in the hotel. As a native kenyan, though, I felt it catered mostly to Italian guests, with locals coming second. That wasn’t a huge issue for me, and I still had one of my most relaxing stays here.

The poolside atmosphere was a lovely way to relax, and there were various activities to choose from. We found the food delicious, with a good range of local and international dishes, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had great views. The beach was beautiful and well maintained, with stunning ocean views from the location. We had an amazing stay at Jacaranda Beach Resort in Watamu, and it made for a great beach getaway.

I left feeling refreshed and keen to come back after three nights at Jacaranda Beach Resort in Watamu. There was plenty to do, from relaxing by the pool to playing beach volleyball, and the live evening performances added some fun to the nights. My room was spacious and clean, with tasteful decor and a cozy veranda leading to the beach and ocean. The beachfront setting had beautiful ocean views and white sand, and the staff made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Meals were a treat, especially the fresh seafood, local and international dishes, and Swahili-themed dinners served with an ocean view. It was a serene beachside stay with great service and activities.

I was only there for a short, busy trip and missed out on some of the resort activities, but its location worked really well. The beach is close by, and Uber made getting into the city easy. The room facing the ocean was fantastic, and the pool was excellent. Breakfast had a great buffet selection. I appreciated Hassan, the pool instructor, arranging water exercises even though nobody else came for the scheduled water aerobics. The welcome coconut water was a nice touch. Carol, the manager, Duncan, and Bahati at reception all helped make the stay lovely, with Bahati especially welcoming and helpful. I’d happily return.
