Twiga Beach & Spa

The manager was very committed and helpful, and we were happy with the hotel. Our room was cleaned every day. The beach is beautiful and lined with palm trees, and the ocean is warm. Just keep in mind that the tides mean you can walk along the ocean floor here. The one problem was that the shower often didn't have hot water. I recommend the hotel.

One night I found an insect in my food, and the waiter just said, “oh okay.” That's unacceptable. We were also charged for our last meal after checkout, even though we were on all inclusive. The reception staff were rude, with no hello or smile. There was obvious favoritism toward Italian guests, and some staff didn't even speak English. Our rooms weren't cleaned regularly, and on most days the clean towels weren't put back. I'm never coming back.

As a fish supplier, I've experienced a lot of hospitality at this nice hotel. It makes me imagine how well tourists must be treated if I get such good treatment as a supplier. I'd say it's among Kenya's five-star hotels.

We came for two weeks and had the best experience we've had so far. Twiga is a great hotel, with excellent management, lovely staff, and very tasty food. If you're after a place to relax beside an almost empty beach, this is it. Mrs.Angela and Mr.Massimo were always there for us, helping with any request and sorting out even the smallest issues. Many thanks to them. My wife and I have spent much of our lives working in hotels and restaurants, and we think Twiga's managers are the most professional we've met. Keep up the good work. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with, from the gardeners and housekeeping team to the waiters, bartenders, and animators. They were always smiling and ready to help. We'll miss them all, and hope to see them again ❤️ The buffet has so much choice. There's a pasta station where the chef prepares fresh seafood, and very tasty fish and grilled food every day. It felt like a taste of Kenya, and some of the best food we've had, even compared with expensive restaurants. The sandy beach is beautiful, with sunbeds and plenty of palm trees for shade. There are no sea urchins in the ocean, which makes swimming or walking in the water safe, but you need water shoes because the bottom is rocky. It's a great spot for kitesurfing too.
