Olimp Hotel

We found the staff incredibly kind and helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. There weren't loads of dishes, but each was worth trying, from freshly baked pizza and chicken wings to juices and salads. We also liked having late-night coffee in the pretty restaurant area. Our family room worked really well for five: a double bed in one room, a connected lounge with two single beds in the other, and an extra bed they brought in. It also had a microwave, sink, fridge, and a Muslim shower. For a longer stay, the laundry room and mini kitchen would be handy, and there's a beautifully kept prayer room. The kids' play area and games are downstairs. The hotel is elegant and well maintained, with lovely views from its good location in Cholpon-Ata. Comfortable and family-friendly, it felt like home with a little touch of luxury. I'd happily recommend Olimp Hotel to anyone visiting Kyrgyzstan.

There’s a lot going for this hotel: the rooms are newly furnished and good, and the location and view are great. But hygiene needs attention. Our room wasn’t clean, and spider webs covered the balcony and reached inside too. The place has real potential. If they put more effort into cleaning and maintenance, it could be a really solid hotel.

During the offseason, when most of Cholpon Ata was closed, Olimp hotel was the town's highlight. My room had a lake view and balcony, and the breakfast might've been the best I had in five weeks in Central Asia.

Our stay was generally alright, but I'd be cautious about booking here because of a payment problem that still hasn't been resolved. We stayed for five days and ate at the restaurant, keeping the bills to pay on our last evening. The receptionist tried the orange card reader twice, but it declined after we entered the PIN. We then paid successfully on a black terminal. Two days later, our bank account showed the amount had been charged three times. We emailed, texted, and called the hotel several times. Both the receptionist and manager said they'd handle it, but nothing has happened so far. They keep asking for more time, and I believe they're trying to hide the issue and avoid refunding our money. Beware, this feels like a scam.
