Bodo Hostel

I’ve never had a stay this awful, and I strongly advise against this hostel. The 8-bed women’s dorm smelled of sewage all the time. Several people lived there long term, including a hostel worker, and their luggage was everywhere. The room was crowded, messy, and had no ventilation. There are only two toilets for the whole hostel, so lines were common. They were dirty and smelled just as bad, and the kitchen wasn’t hygienic either. On my second morning, the power went out. I left early and returned after 8 p.m., but it was still off. It was extremely hot inside and none of the facilities worked. I asked to move to another hostel and get a refund. Staff called the owner, who refused, saying checkout was at 12 p.m. and power would return by 10 p.m. By 10, nearby buildings and streetlights had power again, but this hostel was still dark. I asked for a refund again because no power meant no fan, Wi-Fi, kitchen, or way to charge my devices, which was completely unacceptable. The owner finally arrived at 11 p.m. and was extremely rude. He gave me two choices: move for free to their other hostel, which was far away, or get a refund and find somewhere else myself. I took the refund, but it was already 11:30 p.m. I was traveling alone as a woman, and there were no buses then. The owner refused to drive me to another hostel, which felt totally irresponsible. Luckily, I managed to walk safely to a nearby one that night. Think twice before staying here.
