Hotel by Tchibo

Breakfast was pretty limited and could be improved. I'm not sure why they served burgers in the morning. Plain bread with butter and jam would be a game changer. The rest was taken care of, including a smooth checkout. Their airport drop-off shuttle was very cost effective, and I'd stay again. Try the coffee at La Bugatte cafe. The check-in was easy, and the young, lively staff spoke English and were always helpful. The location was good, near several landmarks. Our room was roomy enough, the toilet was clean, and they cleaned the room and made the bed regularly during our two nights. All amenities were there. They seem to have improved a lot since the earlier reviews I read.

The hotel is in a leafy modernist residential area, around a 15-minute walk from the center. Downstairs there's a very nice cafe that stays open at night too. For 3600 som, our night in the tastefully furnished double room felt worth it. It had a large bed, plenty of towels, a wardrobe with a safe, a spacious en-suite bathroom, and a view of the sunset over the city. Breakfast was decent as well. I really recommend this hotel.

The room had no fridge, and there wasn't a (shattaf) in the toilet. Staff speak very little English. The entrance can be confusing the first time because you go through a cafe called La baguette to reach the hotel. It's a nice hotel, and while it's not right by the attractions, the walk isn't too bad. At these prices, finding a private room closer to the sights may be difficult.
