The host and service were great, and the rooms were good. I just wish the place were on the southern side of Issyk-Kul.

The nearby shops, ATMs, lake, and jogging trails are a plus, but the place itself was only so-so for me, maybe an acquired taste. I was there at the end of March and the room was freezing; even two convector heaters couldn't warm it up. The ceilings are low, and the bed was hard, which was a big drawback for me. Calling it a three-star place feels like a stretch.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay. Ak-Shoola is popular even though there are lots of guesthouses nearby. The hosts are welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. Prices are very reasonable. Our room had two or three beds and a kitchen with the utensils needed to cook. Getting around was easy. The lake is 10-15 minutes away on foot, with cafes, currency exchange offices, shops, and beach attractions along the way. There are two supermarkets nearby, and a market runs on Saturday and Sunday. To reach Cholpon-Ata for PCR tests, take a minibus from the stop called "Bolnitsa" (Hospital); it's a 10-minute ride and costs 10 soms. A taxi to places like the Aurora and Kyrgyz Seaside boarding houses costs 150-250 soms. They have excellent parks and beaches. Thank you very much!

It's a quiet, cozy guest house near Golden Sands beach, with plenty of room options and free Wi-Fi. You can order food or use the kitchen to cook for yourself. The owners run it as a family business and make food that feels home-cooked. They clean the rooms thoroughly after guests leave, even washing the windows. There's parking, a barbecue, a trestle bed in the yard, a kitchen, and outdoor gazebos. The area around the house also has video surveillance.
