Amir Hotel

I stayed here on both sides of my trek, and each time the room was just right. I was on the second floor with a view over a flower nursery and the mountains beyond. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and it had AC. There's also a water dispenser in the hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always smiling. They provided a light breakfast with a choice of eggs. Lighthouse Karakol, one of the best cafes in Karakol, is right across the road, and most places are within walking distance.

Breakfast had a great choice, which was a nice change from porridge. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was lovely and hot. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Hotel Amir was a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights while we enjoyed Karakol and the surrounding area. The rooms were clean and the location was good. I understand it’s a family-run business, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. When we left, most of them came out to wave goodbye. It was quite touching.

The host was wonderful and knew the region inside out, with great suggestions for places to visit and cheaper, quicker ways to reach some hard-to-get-to spots. That saved me a lot of money. The guesthouse was also very clean, and the bedding was comfortable. I loved the garden, with flowers blooming everywhere and fresh apricots and cherries you can pick from the trees. Eating on the terrace with the snow-covered mountains in view was a real highlight.
