Honestly, it was quite good. The room was clean, with lockers for bags and a bathroom in each hostel room. A bed for one night costs 1200 Kyrgyz Som. In summer the room gets hot, and there’s no air conditioning. The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach above the first floor. The location is really convenient, right by a bus and marshrutka stop, with a good modern supermarket selling meals next door and a whole cluster of fast food places a little farther along. The staff aren’t very friendly, but they get things done and mostly leave you alone.

I booked the private room for one night. It looked nice at first, but there were bags all over it, mostly on the bed, and plenty more in the shower.

Dinner and breakfast at the nearby Despar supermarket were very good and fairly priced. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the place was quiet despite being close to a roundabout. The landlord wasn’t especially friendly, but was helpful.

We had a clean room for four, with a shower included, for 800 som per person per night. The house has a lovely, well-kept outdoor area where we could sit in the evening, nothing fancy, just nice. Service was friendly and we were very satisfied with the room. We skipped breakfast. What we saw looked okay but nothing special, and it would have cost 200 soms extra. Morning coffee is free.

We slept really well here. Even though the hotel is near the street, the soundproofing is very good, and it was clean and quiet inside. I guess this is the best western-style hotel in Balykchy. The location is good too.
