There’s plenty of space to relax outside in the lovely garden, and the kitchen is available too. The rooms were spotless, with air conditioning, and three bathrooms meant no queueing. WiFi was fast. They also offer laundry for just 200 som and storage for people heading into the mountains and coming back later. The water filter was handy for avoiding disposable bottles. Really nice place to stay, highly recommend it.

Breakfast has lots of options and costs extra, but remember to order the night before. WiFi was a bit hit and miss, though good when it worked. The house feels open, with roomy bedrooms, good beds, and a shared bathroom. There’s gated off-road parking for a few cars. Shoes stay outside. The owners don’t speak much English, but they do a great job with Google Translate.

The garden, full of fruit trees, is lovely, and the younger co-owners were friendly and tried to make us feel welcome. But the older woman seemed to be in charge and treated us as if we’d wandered into her private home. She got annoyed when we used the kitchen, even though that had been agreed, and when we worked on our laptops in the shared room in the evening. She even turned off the lights while we were still there. At night she locked the house door, so anyone in a tent or car couldn’t get to the toilets. The worst was when she shouted at us to leave “her house” after we wouldn’t agree to pay twice the price we’d been quoted, and said we were acting like we’d moved in, even though this is a hostel. For us, it felt more like a homestay than a hostel, and not a good one. If the younger co-owners take action and remove her from that role, this could be a really nice place.

We had a great three-night stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the setting felt peaceful for a city. Everything was clean, with a decent shower, secure parking, WiFi, and breakfast. Great value, definitely recommend.
