Double-bed room, $20 a night, January 2025. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony, but that was the only upside. I’ve never seen a dirtier room, and you’d be better off keeping your street shoes on. The showerhead was cheap, the water heater didn’t work, there were no hand towels, and a booking for two came with just one pair of slippers. The walls are thin, so you hear everything outside. One clerk seemed friendly, though he didn’t speak English. Another man, maybe the boss, spoke English and was incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. We needed change for a restaurant bill, so we called to ask if we could exchange money at the hotel. He offered to pay online and have us pay him back later, then tried to get extra money for helping. I confirmed the restaurant owner’s price twice. He kept saying, “dont worry, you just pay me later,” and we did, but he charged 30% more. He wasn’t there when we returned, only the friendly clerk, so I didn’t bother that poor guy. Smart of the scammer not to show up in person.
