Delux Villa

The room we were eventually shown matched the photos, and it was available. Another room was free too, while the one we had originally booked was still empty. That made the whole situation feel questionable. At first, though, we were put in a much lower-quality room that looked nothing like the pictures and was well below what we had booked and paid for. We were told the hotel was fully booked and couldn't change our room. When we raised it again that evening, the owner and staff still wouldn't help or take our concern seriously. Only when we asked about a discount did they suddenly show us the room we had actually booked. A very disappointing stay, and the way this was handled felt unprofessional.

The pool was nice, but the atmosphere felt creepy. Friends of ours were staying there for a few nights over Water Festival, and we brought our kids to swim after asking the manager what it would cost. As we were leaving, another staff member, who seemed uncomfortable, asked us to pay a higher amount. We questioned it and asked for the original price. That staff member was about to let us leave after we paid that amount, but the manager came over and demanded more. Between all our friends, we were renting four rooms, so it wasn't a great experience. We speak Khmer, so this wasn't a language mix-up. The manager also made sexual advances toward our friend during their stay. Be careful with this hotel. It was unlike our other experiences in Cambodia.

The room was roomy and comfortable, and the large pool was a lovely place to relax. I stayed two nights, and the property seemed pleasant with a lot of potential. Still, there were many mosquitoes inside, even though I never opened the windows or balcony door, so evenings were uncomfortable. I was also charged £10 for a towel after my hair dye left a few faint marks. That seemed excessive, especially since towels cost only a fraction of that locally. I had a good stay in many ways, but the response to these small issues disappointed me. Better room upkeep and a fairer way of handling guest mishaps would make this a much better experience.

The owner was so generous and really stood out for our group. Delux Villa is clean, reasonably priced, and having a pool was fun. There are good restaurants and cafes a short walk away.
