Sambor Village Hotel

I run motorcycle tours through town and put my guests up here every time. It’s the best place around, with a beautiful hotel and the kindest, friendliest staff, as you often find in Cambodia. I always look forward to staying here myself. Love this hotel.

We spent two nights here while visiting Sambor Prei Kuk. The manager was kind and helped us with everything, and our bungalow was lovely. It had a mosquito net and air conditioning, and the pool was nice too. There’s construction going on by the riverside at the moment, so I expect the area outside the hotel will look nice once the work is done.

We first stayed here in 2018, and now we’re planning to return. We should have come back ages ago. That weekend staycation with our friends and their kids is one of my favorite Cambodia memories. I surprised my husband by taking a minivan here with everyone. We loved being able to borrow bicycles with a child seat and ride around the countryside. You can also get straight onto a boat beside the hotel. The ride gave us a real glimpse of everyday life in Cambodia, unlike the tourist-trap feel of the floating villages and Kampung Pluk. This is exactly the kind of place you remember.

Just stopped in for lunch this time, no overnight stay. The food was good and the service was very good.
