I stayed at Ahha Residence for a few days during the Water Festival, and the staff were so welcoming, kind, and helpful. The place has an authentic, traditional feel. It’s right in central Kampot, near the river beach and bars, but away from the crowds and noise. I also learned that much of the residence’s income goes toward AHHA NGO’s education programs for disadvantaged children. It felt good knowing my stay helped support access to education. A lovely place with a purpose, and I’d recommend it.

We ended up cancelling our three-night booking because there were ants around the door and bed frame. The second room they offered had the same problem. Maybe other guests don’t mind the ants, but we wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying. It was a shame, since the service was lovely and the staff understood and apologized. The sheets seemed clean, the area was lovely, and the reception space was great.

I spent a month at AHHA Residence and felt comfortable the whole time. For the low price, the room had what I needed: a desk for work, a closet, a firm bed (my preference), and reliable hot water. The staff were wonderful, kind, attentive, and always willing to help. The people here are hardworking, warm, and inspiring. It’s also nice to know that a stay supports local education through the NGO behind the residence. Highly recommend.
