Koh Rong Beach Hostel and Bungalow

We left two days early and got no refund, which was a huge disappointment. The owner said we’d need to contact the booking company, but after trying everything, nobody answered. The room had no windows and a damp smell that never went away. There was standing water somewhere in the shower that attracted mosquitoes, so it felt like being in the jungle. The bed had termites, and my friend was bitten all over. There was no cleaning service, and we had to go to reception each time we needed fresh towels or toilet paper. I can’t recommend this place.

The bungalow room was tiny for the high price, and the bathroom had no privacy. The water heater barely worked, so the water was very cold. The rooms were filthy, with bugs, dirty floors, cracked walls and holes, while the air conditioning was broken. The lights kept flickering and sometimes wouldn’t work at all. A horrible stay with terrible service.

The beachside location is great, but the room was a letdown. We paid around $70 a night, and the quality didn’t come close to matching that price. The main door wouldn’t open all the way, and the bathroom was cracked, dirty, and smelled bad. The online photos don’t show the property as it really is. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless things improve.

We had a fantastic Greek chicken souvlaki, served with fries, Greek salad, and tzatziki. It was so tasty that we’re planning to come back for it tomorrow. Just remember to order it yourself at the bar.
