Damnak Riverside Villa

It's absolutely safe, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Even the dogs are friendlier than the next door neighbours dog. Pub Street is a quick walk away. The decor may feel dated to some since the place has been operating for years, but the AC works well, the floor is clean, and the bed is nice.

Damnak was a good stay for us. The street is quiet even though you're close to everything. Our room was clean, the pool was very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The owner treated me like an inconvenience, interrupting me mid-shower and ordering me to move my car immediately to make room for a group of so-called “important” guests. I wasn't asked politely or given a choice. I had to move the car and check out on the spot, while the owner acted as if nothing had happened. These “VIP” guests apparently had nowhere else to stay, or I doubt they would have chosen this run-down hotel. The owner seemed so eager to please them that disrespecting paying guests already staying there was no problem. It was humiliating, insulting, and unprofessional. A hotel that interrupts guests to accommodate others who otherwise wouldn't have stayed there doesn't deserve their business. I strongly recommend choosing somewhere that treats people with basic courtesy and respect.

The rooms and pool were really clean, and the restaurant food was very good. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The staff were incredibly welcoming and available, and very nice. If I'm back in Siem Reap, I'll definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything!
