Araya Angkor Residence

BEWARE, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Update: I booked at Sakaban Suite instead and had a great stay, with fantastic service, communication, and organization. Later, Araya offered me another booking at triple the original rate. It was too late by then, and I declined. After canceling my reservation, they kept sending welcome emails for that same booking. No one in the organization seemed to know what the other had done. That poor communication says a lot about how this place is run. Original post: I made a booking on their main website for February 24th-27th, more than six weeks ahead at the end of 2025. I got confirmation emails, then a WhatsApp welcome message less than two weeks before the stay. A few hours later came a cancellation email saying a system error had caused confusion over rates and they would not honor the reservation. This was their mistake, and they offered no alternative. I emailed twice asking for help, since I now had little time and fewer options to find a suitable place, likely at much higher rates. They never replied. I've traveled for over 40 years across six continents, including more than five months in Asia recently and stays in many places across six countries during that time. I've never seen service this poor or such a complete lack of accountability. By contrast, METTAVARY HOTEL in Phnom Penh gave me excellent support with a booking there. This isn't a Cambodia issue, it's an Araya Angkor Residence issue. A business that makes a mistake should honor its promise. For a hotel meant to be a higher level place, this is beyond disappointing. Shameful.

I got a great rate for two nights through Agoda, and the staff were helpful and friendly the whole time. Our room was already ready when we arrived, so they let us check in early, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious and very clean, and the bathroom was impressively large too. Having Netflix and YouTube on the TV made the stay even nicer. I had a really pleasant visit and would definitely recommend the hotel, 10/10.

The staff were welcoming and cheerful, and they went out of their way to meet my husband's dietary needs. Our room was comfortable and spacious, just what we needed. We had a memorable stay in Cambodia and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting.

The pool was amazing, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel is in a nice, peaceful area for a good night's rest. It's beautiful and clean, and the friendly staff are always ready to help and give good service. Highly recommended.
