Bongo, the owner, was nice, but the stay was the worst I've ever had. The toilets were disgusting, there was no privacy, and cockroaches were around. It was so hot that I was scared to sleep, and locals woke me at 4am. It felt like an experience from hell, and I won't forget it. Please don't stay here.

The Unicorn is worth recommending. I stayed a few nights and really liked it: the room was clean and comfortable, and it's peaceful at night while still just moments from beaches and bars. The owners were kind and helpful, and their lovely cats are very friendly. Wifi worked perfectly for me, which is unusual on Ko Rong.

We ended up staying three nights, then added two more. The hosts were friendly and fun, the place is affordable, clean, and close to the beach, and our fan kept the room cool. I had no trouble with noisy neighbors. I worry a lot about cleanliness, especially in toilets, but everything was clean and they checked throughout the day to keep it that way. There were no bug issues for us: we kept the mosquito net over the bed, didn't eat in the room, and even let the cats wander through a couple of times to check, lol. It is a tropical place near sand, and some neighbors may not be the cleanest, so guests have to be reasonable about insects. I'd seen negative reviews after booking and was concerned, but our stay was great. I totally recommend it :)

Boogie and the staff are some of the friendliest hosts I've met. They're easygoing and do everything they can to make your stay great. Prices are very reasonable, and it's close to the beach. They have a PS4 with FIFA 19, plus an amazing Turkish breakfast. Highly recommended.
