Auberge Du Soleil - Kampot

The spicy beef salad and Carpaccio are both standouts, and when they have the cheese, the fondue is a winner too. There’s a great range of food and wine here.

The pork chops were fine, served with mustard sauce and mashed potatoes. I came back for dinner for the second time in just over a year, and finished with a Dame Blanche. The ice cream was delicious, though I wish the whipped cream hadn’t come from a spray can.

We keep coming back to this Kampot favorite. The steaks are especially delicious, service is nice, and the prices are very reasonable. Absolutely recommend it 👍🏻

The meal itself was excellent, easily the best part. But we had to track down the waitress whenever we needed anything, and she never checked in on us. We eventually skipped dessert and went to the bar to pay. For Kampot town, the location is fine, though there’s no real view and the atmosphere felt flat, partly because of the inattentive service. If good food is all you’re after, Auberge du Soleil is worth a visit. The service and ambiance really detract from the full dining experience. Better-trained staff could make a big difference, but in its current state I’d have a hard time recommending it for the whole experience.
