Mad Monkey Hostel Kampot

The pool area is awesome, with good music, hammocks, a pool table, and a net for games. It’s got a nice balance of quiet and lively, with a cool rooftop bar and people from all over. Food is great and not expensive, and the receptionists are helpful with bus and tour bookings. The motorcycles for rent were in very good condition. There are lots of sleeping options, from dorms with AC and big beds to a very clean, cozy private room with AC. Very recommended!

It’s clean and well equipped, and a good place to meet other young travelers, but the whole hostel experience feels forced. The reception staff seem indifferent, like you’re just a number in the crowd. Prices are a bit higher than usual, and it doesn’t feel like Asian accommodation. Definitely not the right place if you’re looking for an authentic Cambodia trip.

The private room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were so friendly and always greeted us with a smile. We joined the scooter tour of bokor and the jungle trekking, both of which were a lot of fun, with beautiful locations and views and a very informative guide. They organize activities every day. Just keep in mind it’s a party hostel, so there’s music every night and it can get pretty loud. Everything stops at midnight, when the party moves elsewhere, and I never had any trouble sleeping. I can only recommend it for a beautiful holiday in Kampot!

The pool was clean, the restaurant was good, and the staff were super friendly. We had a private room for three, and it was very clean with generous space, quite different from what you might expect in a hostel. I’m giving it four stars because one of our beds had bedbugs.
