Montagne Regency

The rooms were neat and clean, though some don't have windows at all. The walls are thin, but it wasn't busy while I was there, so that didn't bother me. Service was okay. The pool is nice, if a bit small, and I liked the cocktails.

I found the location fine, just a short ride from the center. The staff were really nice and went out of their way for me, and there was secure gated parking for my motorbike. Having two pools is a big plus. Breakfast seemed to switch between buffet and a la carte, and both were decent for the price. I think the hotel deserves a higher rating.

The included breakfast was disappointing. The juice came from a carton, the bread was dry, old and low quality, and the American breakfast was supposed to have baked tomatoes but came with just one tiny cherry tomato. The fruit plate had one small slice each of orange and dragon fruit, plus two tiny watermelon slices. My deluxe king room was basic and had no window, but it did have what you'd expect: working air conditioning, clean sheets, towels and bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Parking was free. The pool was nice and accessible, though it's at the Montagne Residence next door.

The staff were kind and friendly throughout my stay. Kin picked me up from the bus terminal and shared lots of useful information. After I booked, the hotel emailed to arrange a free shuttle when I arrived. My room was cleaned daily and the WiFi worked well. I could use any of the pools, and the pool area was great. The bartenders made excellent cocktails, and I could order food at the bar to be brought up to my room. It's a little way from town, but you can walk or take a tuk tuk. The first two nights were quiet. On Friday, a group of guests played very loud music, banged doors, shouted and screamed until 03:00. I wish the staff had told them to quiet down. As a woman travelling alone, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my room to complain so late. Aside from that, thank you for a lovely stay.
