We ate here twice for breakfast and lunch while visiting Kampot, and the food was that good. I can't comment on the rooms, but the service was amazing too. The special, prawn and smoked ham Benedict, was delicious, and the Indian dishes were spectacular. The owner has been here for over a decade and was the first to bring East Indian cuisine to Kampot. He really delivers. Big portions, all homemade.

Came back to The Magic Sponge after six years, this time with my dad, and was glad to be there again. Mr William was friendly and helpful, the room was great, and the location worked well. The food was incredible, and the mini golf and snooker were a big plus. It's a quiet area too. Great value for money. Thanks for being so kind, William. I'll be back!

My room was one of the prettiest and smartest I've stayed in during my time in Cambodia, and having thousands of films on the big TV was fun. Breakfast was tasty with lots to choose from, and William, the delightful owner, was cheerful and helpful. The hotel is excellent value in central Kampot. I had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend it. The mini golf looks fun for kids too.

Right at the edge of town, the location is perfect, with Kampot centre very close by. The building is faux Art Deco, and it's fabulous, with a beautiful bar as well. The mood is quiet and laid back, with jazz playing softly in the background. If you're after sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, Magic Sponge isn't the place for you.

Once you've checked in, you may not want to leave. The kind, helpful owner, William, has made the Magic Sponge feel special. There's mini golf and pool if you want something to do, tours can be arranged, cocktails are lovely, and the food is freshly made with lots of cuisines to choose from. Just watch out for falling mangoes!
