The convenient location is why I’m giving it 2 stars. It’s an old place and the rooms are in very poor condition. The bed sheets weren’t clean, and the lighting was... It seemed like nobody cared about the property anymore. We’d brought a mat and sleeping bag for a camping trip, and thankfully used them on the bed when rain forced us to cancel our plans.

I called to ask the price and was told $40 for two beds. Then my friend texted and was told just $35. That didn’t feel honest. I used to stay here a few years ago.

The bungalows are beautifully arranged in a manicured garden, with big trees all around and a nice pool in the middle. There’s even a separate kitchen area in the room. It feels peaceful, is close to the town centre, and is great value for money. I’d have given it 5 stars if the room had been kept up better, with things like light bulbs replaced and the loose tap screw tightened.

We had planned to spend a few nights here, but left after just one because we got so many bedbug bites. It was a nightmare. Lift the mattresses and you’ll see stains and dead bugs, if you know what to look for in hotels and Air BnBs. The bugs live in the mattresses. The owner doesn’t seem to know much about bedbugs and won’t be doing any treatment to get rid of them. I don’t blame them, but there’s clearly a need for more awareness about bedbugs here.

Magnificent trees everywhere you walk, amazing mountain views, and almost no noise at all. The salt water pool is high end, entryless and brilliantly maintained. We booked a Superior room, which was modern, very clean and super comfortable. The staff were lovely and friendly. This is our favorite place to stay in Kep. I’ll be back!
