Monkey Island

The hut was right on the beach and came with a hammock, all for a very reasonable price. It's in a good spot away from the noise, and I really enjoyed the chill bar and restaurant, with decent hip hop playing through the day. Staff helped with my questions. Rooms are basic, and the kitchen only serves food at set times, which is a shame. My only complaint is there weren't enough power sockets in the room.

The bungalows and bathrooms are really basic, but you're just 20 meters from the ocean, with breathtaking sunrises right there. It's a friendly, casual place on a beach island paradise, far enough from the cheap hostels and bars to sleep, but close enough to the action if you want it. The food is excellent and the staff are lovely. Can I live here please?

A few simple additions to make the bungalows more comfortable would turn this into a five star stay. They're very basic, though the setting is gorgeous and the distance from the main bar area is just right. The communal space serves delicious food and drinks at good prices during happy hour. Beautiful!

The bar and restaurant area is nice, but I'd only stop in for a drink and wouldn't stay. The bathrooms were incredibly dirty. We're not picky, but it was obvious they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Staff seemed indifferent and sometimes even rude. Other places have much more welcoming staff and feel better organized.
