For the low price, the conditions are about what you might expect, and the location is very good. It’s close to the main pier and lots of pubs and restaurants, and the staff are friendly. The rooms weren’t very clean. The bathroom was quite disgusting, with damp on the floor and tiles that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for months. There’s only one way to get light into the dark room, by opening the windows onto the main road, but then everyone can look in and there are no insect nets. The mosquito net inside had so many holes it was almost useless. Cheap, so don’t expect much.

The family who run the place are really nice and helpful. It’s a good spot, a few minutes from the beach, so it’s a little quieter, and everything is still within walking distance. My room was simple, with a fan and no air conditioning, but I slept well.

I arrived on the island in the evening without a plan, and this guesthouse was just a short walk from the pier. The family running it were really sweet, and my double room wasn’t too hot. It had cute flower art on the walls, and was everything I needed for the night. No five-star luxury, just a good place to sleep.

For $4 (10/2017), I got a comfortable dorm bed that wasn’t too soft. It’s a little way up the street rather than right on the beach, which makes it quieter. There’s a fan for each bed and no AC. The shower is cold, and there’s no toilet paper.
