Bring cash, or download the BAKONG TOURIST app to pay by QR code! The staff were fabulous and so friendly, and the beach was the highlight: gorgeous white sand and the clearest water we’ve ever seen. There are sunbeds, hammocks, and plenty of places to relax, plus a kayak and snorkels you can use for free. The hotel is away from most things, which we liked because it made us slow down and chill. You can rent a scooter or have the hotel arrange a tuk-tuk, but we just stayed on the beach. The place is dated and a bit scruffy, but the rooms are a good size, with a clean bed and a much-appreciated mosquito net. It’s not for anyone expecting luxury, but it works if you want a clean bed, a roof, an amazing beach close by, and great staff. The restaurant food is simple and cheap enough. There are a few other places farther along the beach if you want something different, though we enjoyed what they served.

Those five nights at Soksan Natura Beach Resort were exactly what we hoped for. The rooms are comfortable and simple, and occasional power cuts seem part of island life. With that beach nearby, it was easy to take in stride. It’s only a two-minute walk to gorgeous white sand and clear blue water, and it never felt crowded. We loved the breakfast pancakes and seafood fried rice, too. The staff really made the stay: the young man at reception and the tall waiter were two of the kindest people we met on our travels. They can arrange scooters and boat trips as well. We’d stay here again when we return to Koh Rong.

The staff made our few days here feel special. They were so kind and friendly, always greeting us with a smile and doing what they could to help. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a lovely sea view. The beach was beautiful, with blue water, gorgeous sand, and a sunset every night. Breakfast was good, especially the generous serving of pancakes with fresh fruit. I also really appreciated the hot and cold refill water station. It saves so much money on water while travelling. My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay, and I’d happily come back.

The beach is the reason to come here. It’s one of the most beautiful I’ve seen, and the hotel provides free loungers, towels, snorkelling gear, and kayaks. The staff were friendly, and the beach service was good. The restaurant was decent and handy, though expensive, and there aren’t many nearby alternatives. The rooms were worn, old, and not clean enough, with quite a lot of bugs. Even the towels smelled bad. For the room quality, the hotel is far too expensive. We cut our stay short because of the poor conditions. It may suit someone who cares much more about the beach than the hotel itself, but that wasn’t enough for us.
