Asiban Quay Boutique Hotel

The beddings were the biggest problem. The duvet and comforter were stained, dirty and itchy, like they hadn’t been changed before we arrived. I barely slept, so we got up early and sat on the balcony. The room looked good at first, but the facilities didn’t seem well managed. The lights, water and air con worked, to be fair, but the sink was locked when we tried to use it and the drainage was capped. There were only three pieces of facial tissue, and the wall paint was damaged. The balcony smelled of cat poop, some sockets didn’t work, and the door was hard to lock and unlock.

The location by the river is excellent and an easy walk. The staff were attentive and ready to help. Manager Srun is very friendly, and so is his family, who also work at the hotel.

Walking distance from the hotel are the kings palace, museum and lots of restaurants, and the promenade is a lovely place at night. The Mekong River view is amazing, and some rooms have large balconies. The rooms are clean and modern, recently updated and kept to a very high standard. My room was in impeccable condition. The rain coming inside mentioned in an earlier review is typical for this part of the rainy season. Sear was a very good host, always looking after guests and showing us where to go in Phnom Penh. I highly recommend staying here and would return on another visit to the city.

Room #21 sadly had mold on the walls, though the location was superb.
