Base Villa Phnom Penh - Hostel

I had a really good time here and would stay again. The lounge area with the pool and bar is awesome, and the staff are friendly. They serve good local and Western food. The rooms are small but have AC and fans, plus their own toilet and shower. The shower could be better when it comes to temperature.

This feels more like a mini resort than a hostel, and there's a lot to like for the price. The whole place seemed very clean and well managed. Staff were courteous and professional, the pool was clean, and both the Western and Khmer food were very good and reasonably priced. The dorm AC ran all day, unlike in other dorms I've stayed in, and the wifi was strong. Dorm guests get lockers big enough for my flight case, rucksack, and two full-face crash helmets. The beds are a little firm, but each bunk has a light and power point with English and Euro/Asian sockets. Highly recommended.

It only cost me 5 dollars, with good beds and washrooms. Budget travellers should definitely consider it. There are lockers to keep your things safe while you're out, and the pool is nice for cooling off in the midday heat. Food is reasonably priced, and the bar is pretty suave. I'd love to come back soon.

A very affordable hostel with a decent-sized lounge and pool, plenty of room to relax, and meals available throughout the day. It's close to ATMs and supermarkets. They provide a towel and, if you're sharing a dorm, a locker for your things. There is air conditioning, though flies still get into the room. There were no windows, and the room was basically one space with a bathroom and toilet.
