Chaiya Palace Hotel

The staff were the best part of my stay at Chaiya Palace Hotel. From check-in through checkout, everyone was friendly and attentive, with genuine smiles each day. That level of service deserves 10 out of 10, and management should be proud of the team. The location made exploring easy, just steps from local markets, palace, and cafes. The room’s AC worked flawlessly in the heat. Rooms and common areas were spotless, with crisp linens, and the pool and seating area were immaculate. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious, including made-to-order omelets, and the restaurant staff were just as warm as the front desk. A few things could be improved. The shower sometimes didn’t have consistent hot water. The sink is in the bedroom with no counter space, so getting ready after a shower was tricky. A small mirror by the desk would help with makeup or hair without crowding the bathroom. The gym bathroom also has no sink, which made washing hands after using the toilet inconvenient. The staff alone make me want to come back. Chaiya Palace is a standout, and those small improvements would make an already lovely hotel even better. I can’t recommend it enough.

We spent five nights here and had a pleasant stay, but at this price for Cambodia, we wouldn’t book again given a few issues. The pool looks far bigger and more inviting online. There are only six loungers for the whole hotel, and they were always taken. Access is especially difficult for anyone with orthopedic limitations: there’s a step of about 50 cm before the ladders, and getting to them may be impossible. The elevator doesn’t go straight to the pool either. You have to go to the restaurant and then use the stairs. The architecture doesn’t seem well thought out. The restaurant and breakfast room felt too small. Once it was so full that we had to go back to our room, and another time strangers joined our table. I don’t enjoy being pushed into conversations with strangers in the morning. On the positive side, the service, cleanliness, and staff friendliness were excellent. Beds were made with fresh linens each day. Breakfast had a good selection and quality, with à la carte choices and a small buffet. The location couldn’t be better.

The hotel’s location was a big reason I picked Chaiya Palace Hotel. There’s a park across the road for morning walks, and you can follow the riverside to Koh Pich. I also enjoyed browsing street food at the park in the afternoon. From the rooftop pool and sky bar, you get a 360 view of the surroundings, including the Bassac/Mekong River and city highlights of PP. I stayed for a few weeks and really enjoyed my time. The room was lovely and kept in good shape. The staff were welcoming, and when I raised concerns, they communicated and resolved them efficiently. I’d happily stay here again.

We stayed in December 2025. Our room had an amazing view and a free minibar, and there were lots of great restaurants within an easy walk. The staff were wonderful, kind, and helpful when we needed a later checkout because I’d messed up my Tuktuk logistics. It did feel a little like a businessman’s hotel, though that didn’t cause us any problems. Breakfast could use a bit more inspiration.
