Cozy Boutique Hotel

The neighborhood felt very safe, and the location was great. There weren’t inexpensive Khmer food choices nearby, though there were plenty of international places and fancier Khmer restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the AC and hot water both worked great. My phone also got a good signal in the room, unlike at other hotels where thick concrete walls caused trouble.

The online photos are misleading, perhaps from when the hotel first opened, because they don't reflect how it looks now. The location is good and the staff were okay, but the room and bathroom were not clean. Stains were easy to see on the wall, bathroom floor, chair, and table, and it clearly hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. The facilities, including the bedding, are aging. Hygiene needs a lot of improvement, and I wouldn't mind paying a little more for a deep-cleaned room. It feels more like a guesthouse.

The kindergarten next door means you shouldn’t expect to sleep in past 07:00 Monday to Friday. Apart from that, the area was fairly quiet, and the place was easy to find on Google and show to taxi drivers, even if it isn’t well known. There are quite a few places to eat within a ten minute walk. We stayed two extra nights in the end. The staff were great once we got past an initial argument about getting rooms that matched the description. The place was clean, with a nice, slightly small pool. It was great after we finally got a room with windows and no mouldy ceiling.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very sweet. There’s a tea shop next door and a supermarket on the corner, though food around here is at barang prices. I took off a star because there’s no longer a poop, which I’d really been looking forward to.
