Home Chic Hotel

You can tell this place has lost some of its old glory. It may have been beautiful a few years ago, but now it's just a good hotel. The staff are very sweet and help however they can, and the hotel has what you need.

The location was the only good thing. The hotel is dirty and badly in need of renovation. We paid for a luxury double room with a balcony but got a corner room with a tiny balcony, barely large enough for one chair. The receptionist questioned why my partner and I, a same-sex couple, needed a single room and tried to sell us two separate rooms instead. They charge $2 USD to $10 USD for towel wear and tear if you get any dirt on them, and you can't dispute the charges, so watch for surprises. The bathroom was filthy and unhygienic, and the bed was harder than a rock and extremely springy. Book somewhere else.

It's an older hotel that could use renovation, but it's good value for money. The location is amazing, with lots of delicious shops and vendors nearby. The staff were incredible, kind, knowledgeable, and made us feel cared for and safe. We looked forward to the great breakfast buffet every morning. We'll stay here again!

Phnom Penh, April 25, 2026 Chic Home needs to take a hard look at itself. This was an unacceptable stay, and I can't recommend the place. There was dust all over the room when we checked in, including on the bedside tables, inside the wardrobe, and on the bathroom mirrors. It was clear nobody had inspected it beforehand, and it felt unhygienic. The reception service was incompetent when we tried to rent a motorbike. Staff first asked us to leave one passport and wait 30 minutes. We came back after 40 minutes, only to be told they now needed two passports and that we'd have to wait longer. We wasted a whole hour trying to get one bike. The heat in Phnom Penh wasn't the problem.
