The first couple of days were enjoyable, though the swimming pool had no water and clearly hadn’t been used for a long time. The worst part came on our last night. When we returned, the desk guy looked my Filipina fiancé up and down and demanded her ID. I told him she’d shown her passport at check-in two days earlier. I can only guess he assumed I was bringing home a local prostitute. We felt completely insulted. He lowered his head, wouldn’t make eye contact, and refused to apologise. The same guy was at the desk the next morning. He swore at us and was abusive, then laughed when I said I’d complain to his manager. He also refused to give his name. We’ll never return to this hotel.

The front desk staff have a lot of attitude and don’t seem to know how to greet or speak politely to guests. The Cambodian man working at night and the girl there in the morning treated us like servants. Their manner of speaking was very bad. I suggest not going there.

The hotel was as advertised, clean and well looked after. The maids did a fantastic job, and the front counter staff spoke English and could advise on most things happening around the area.

The rooftop breakfast had a nice full menu, and our room was clean and roomy with everything we needed. We especially liked the modern, well-kept bathroom and that double-head shower. The balcony was a lovely extra, looking out over phmon penn. Lavanya Boutique Hotel 🏨 ♥️ is right in the heart of busy, lively Down Town, phmon penh, so there was always something happening. Really glad we stayed 👍😍

The room smelled of cigarettes when we returned, after they'd needed an extra hour to fix something in the bathroom. Breakfast was bland, and they ran out of both toilet paper and hand soap during our stay. Our window also faced a middle school, where people could see in. It was an okay place to stay, but with other options nearby, I don't think it was worth the price.
