Mane La Résidence

The house is gorgeous and has a Cambodian style. The designer lived there for a year before it was recently converted into a small hotel. Breakfast is free and made to order, and you can have as much as you like. The French toast wasn’t amazing, but they do have real maple syrup. They also offered free rides to and from the airport, and possibly to other parts of town since they seemed very hospitable. The bed was comfortable, and for what I paid, it was better value than other hotels near the airport. The bathroom is permanently vented, so it can get muggy. The air conditioning seemed a little weak for the room’s size, possibly because of the open bathroom vent. You need to keep the bathroom door closed if you want the room to cool down. The usual rate feels a bit high for what you get, but I got an amazing deal using credit card points, so the price worked out for me.

The place is beautiful and the staff were lovely, trying to help whenever they could, but the stay was strange and could have been great if some basic things had been handled better. The power and water were out completely for about a third of our two-night stay, so there was no AC either, which made the basics difficult. The food was odd too. A “smoothy” was just orange juice. The eggs Benedict arrived without bacon and with lettuce. When we pointed out the menu item was wrong, they took it away, then brought back the exact same thing 20 minutes later, cold, with the lettuce gone but still no bacon. For the cost, maybe they need solar backup and to sort out the menu.

This is a nice boutique hotel with big, spacious rooms, but it’s pretty disorganized. Don’t rely on them to get you to your flight on time. We insisted we had to leave earlier and kept urging them to hurry, but still missed our flights. Breakfast was nice, though VERY slow, so skip it if you’re heading out early for sightseeing. You’ll need transport to reach the main parts of town.

A comfortable room, a good breakfast, and an amazing setting made for a warm, friendly welcome after a tiring journey. The receptionists were very helpful, and the hotel is in a good central spot. We’re happy to recommend “Mane Heaven”.
