I really enjoyed the service, facilities, and breakfast, and the pool itself was great. The shower by the pool wasn’t very clean, though. Maybe it was because I went around 8 pm.

The club lounge felt dated and gloomy, and breakfast was only adequate with limited choices. Drinks in the club were limited to local beer and wine, even though the hotel website says cocktails are available. The lounge facilities were sparse too. Staff generally seemed unsure and hard to communicate with. Several would stand around looking at the floor, without smiling or greeting guests. I had to change rooms because the first one smelled and its shower was broken. In the new room, hot water only worked when the shower and bath were running together, and I eventually gave up trying to get it fixed. The AC was noisy and old-fashioned. The whole place needs refurbishment.

The bellhop was so friendly and took the suitcases off our hands as soon as we walked in. The building is a big square, so finding things means walking around it. There’s a restaurant and a cafe with friendly staff who offer complimentary juice, and the pool has a bar and is about 3 feet deep. For this area, it’s a pretty nice place.

The staff were fantastic, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. It’s a grand old hotel with all the facilities you’d expect, though the rooms feel worn and badly need an upgrade.
