Samsara Villa

The courtyard is beautiful, with a pool and dining area, and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast was great, with both Western and Cambodian options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that most rooms involve climbing stairs. A few things needed fixing: one room had a leaky air conditioner, and another had vent flaps that wouldn’t open automatically. Still, a good stay.

The pool was clean and refreshing, and towels and bathrobes were provided free. Breakfast was tasty, and most of the staff were very friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean, though the sinks smelled, probably because of poor air circulation. The hotel is in a peaceful part of Phnom Penh. One staff member was rude and impolite. On our first morning we were trying to understand the à la carte breakfast menu, where you can order as much as you want but only once. She gave us unclear answers, and later refused to greet us when we passed, while the others were friendly.

It’s a nice, quiet place and not a bad hotel. The staff are helpful and speak good English. There are no slippers in the Junior Suite. I hadn’t had breakfast yet when I first wrote this, but it was OK. The pool looks very inviting.

It’s a lovely quiet spot, with very friendly staff, clean rooms, and great food at the restaurant. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from the centre of phnom penh. There are plenty of tuk tuks outside, though, and they’ll take you anywhere for about $3. I really enjoyed my stay.
