V Hotel Phnom Penh

The breakfast worked well for me. You can order from the menu, with at least 15 kinds of food to choose from. Staff were extremely friendly, especially the Captain Restaurant :). Our room didn’t have much of a view, but it was nice inside, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite big. The pool is on the 17th floor, with a really good view. There was some construction going on, though it was alright. The neighborhood felt a bit dodgy, but the hotel looked really nice once we went in. They welcomed us with icy towels and delicious cold tea.

The breakfast buffet was mediocre compared with other hotels in the city at a similar price. My room was clean and comfortable, but the power sometimes went off randomly. The younger staff were very nice; some of the older ones were surly. When I asked one of them for an extra pillow, he said they were out. I called again half an hour later and got one from someone else.

I found the stay really comfortable and relaxing. Staff were unfailingly polite and ready to help, and I could control the air conditioning. My Landmark King room had one king bed, a very comfortable bed, and a room and bathroom with nothing to quibble about. The water pressure was just right. The pool’s on the small side but still fine for a decent swim, and I liked that it was shaded in the afternoon.

The family room felt a bit small for two adults and two young children, and we thought the V Hotel was a bit overpriced. We stayed because we had a discount. Staff in both the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and kept the room, especially the bathroom, looking nice. The restaurant food was great, and the free buffet breakfast suited our Cambodian-American family very well. We also enjoyed lunch and dinner there, including one meal delivered to our room. The pool and rooftop view were beautiful, though we didn’t get to use the pool.
