White Corner Hotel

The rooms were small but okay, and one person travelling with us had a cockroach problem in her room. We were unhappy with the attitude at The White Corner Hotel in Combodia. We had booked one king size bed because our baby sleeps with us, and a separate bed felt risky in case he rolled off. On arrival, they said all the single king / queen size rooms were full and offered us only two separate beds. We tried to explain why that was risky with an infant, but the receptionist just said, “I DONT CARE.” We’d never heard that from a hotel before. There are only a few good hotels in Combodia, and this is one of them, but expect rude behaviour and cockroaches if you’re lucky 😂

Several room lights had no bulbs, and the bedside lamp needed a USB plug that the hotel should have been able to provide. The AC didn’t work. The breakfast buffet was tired leftover food, seemingly dishes that hadn’t sold from the menu, and wasn’t really suitable. Cheap stay, cheap result.

The location makes it easy to get everywhere, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent too. A very good value for money hotel.

The buffet the next morning was the best we’d had in two months of budget travel. We stayed just one night, but it was a really enjoyable stop. It was quiet outside, which helped us sleep well, even though the hotel is a little out from the city center. There are good vegetarian restaurants within walking distance. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good hot water, and there was even a bathrobe. The AC ran perfectly and quietly. On arrival, everything felt clean and comfortable; reception were smiling and handed over the keys quickly. There’s an elevator, which was handy with luggage.
