Angkor Century Resort & Spa

We paid for a relaxing resort stay at Angkor Century Resort and Spa, but left feeling stressed, violated, and insulted. During our stay, thb 3500 (USD $100) was taken from a zipped compartment in my backpack, which had been left in our room. It wasn't just misplaced money. The only plausible explanation I can see is that someone who could enter the room opened my bag and took it. When we told management, they dismissed the possibility of theft and said it must have been lost somewhere else. They didn't seem willing to investigate which staff had room access, check security footage, or take our report seriously. It felt like protecting the hotel's reputation mattered more than our security or justice. Their offer of a free beer and some fries as compensation for such a serious breach of trust felt insulting and showed little regard for our loss or safety. The property itself may be acceptable, but the security and ethical standards are nonexistent. I don't trust this hotel with valuables, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our money and peace of mind didn't feel safe.

The rooms were large, and the location made it easy to walk to the main market and Pub Street. The amenities were good, though the service was just okay. I'd recommend booking for a few days in Siam Reap.

The people are what made Angkor Century Resort & Spa feel special to me. Everyone, from the gardeners, chefs, housekeeping team, receptionists, doormen, and other workers to management, was warm, professional, attentive, and caring. They were ready to help with a smile and made me feel welcome and valued. I especially loved the huge, clean pool. It was relaxing and perfect for my daily 1km medley swim. The gym was well equipped too, and I was glad to find my favorite elliptical machine for cardio and joint reinforcement. After long days walking around town, I could unwind with an on-call massage at my preferred time or relax in the hotel's spa. The resort grounds are beautiful, with lush tropical greenery and carefully kept gardens that made a walk around the property peaceful. The plants inside are real and naturally green too, which gave the place a refreshing, authentic feel. It's close to almost everything, with Angkor Supermarket nearby and Pub Street within walking distance. Tuk tuks were always available at reasonable prices, which made getting around easy for guests without ride-hailing apps. Breakfast was memorable, with satisfying variety and a lovely setting. I could eat indoors or outdoors overlooking the pool and the iconic large canopy tree. The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout. My room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, and housekeeping cleaned it thoroughly each day with great attention to detail. I grew really fond of this place. It offered comfort, genuine hospitality, and a peaceful feeling of being at home. I'd gladly return.

It's a good place to stay, though the hotel is a bit old. The location is nice, not far from Pub Street, a supermarket, a museum, and a park. It also offers a quiet break from the busy city center while still being conveniently near Angkor Wat. The expansive tropical gardens, polished wood and high ceilings give it a traditional feel, with Khmer charm rather than a modern minimalist look. The large lagoon-style pool is great for cooling off after temple visits, and the service is warm and attentive. The facilities are well maintained, and the spa treatments and peaceful garden views make it a relaxing choice.
