Angkor Pearl Hotel

Ankor Pearl Hotel is in a great spot for exploring the area, and the rooms have plenty of space to relax. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had a good stay overall; some amenities could use updating. It's a comfortable, well-located option I'd recommend.

We booked a room a week ahead for New Year's Eve and paid a deposit after receptionist Larkena told us by phone that a ground-floor room with one large bed and one small bed was available. When we arrived, a different receptionist said that room hadn't been booked for us. They had instead reserved a second-floor room with two small beds. The hotel has no lift. My family had to scramble to find somewhere else while most places were already full for New Year's Eve. The reception service was very poor, and the staff seemed unprofessional and inadequately trained. I wouldn't recommend staying here; you may be left with a very disappointing surprise.

The rooms are large and good value, and it's close to Pub Street, with an amazing, inexpensive French bakery around the corner. There's no restaurant or breakfast. The property felt more run down than when I stayed here 12 years ago: fruit flies kept swarming the bathroom, my booked suite faced a brick wall, and the sofa was old and worn out.

We stayed over New Year's and had a wonderful time. The room was incredibly clean, with a huge bathtub and a decent view. We didn't hear our neighbors at all. Pub Street is close by, but far enough away that its noise didn't carry into the hotel. I'd happily come back.
