Angkor Piseth Homestay

I haven’t stayed at Tara Angkor Hotel, but I’ve bought a day pass and used the pool many times. It’s always a delight to swim there. The pool is clean, roomy, and comfortable, with nice chairs, plenty of good food and drinks, and a pleasant washroom. A lovely place to swim and relax.

The pool is lovely, the staff attentive, and the hotel is beautiful and good value. It’s in a handy location too. Still, it’s a big hotel, so it doesn’t have much personality or intimacy. The air conditioning is really noisy.

It’s about a 20 minute walk to the main tourist area, or you can take a tuk tuk for around $2 or $3 US, depending on how you negotiate. The room had a safe, and room service was efficient. Staff were very friendly and opened doors for guests. The pool was clean and lovely, with chairs around the edge. Depending on the time of day, it was hard to get the umbrellas to shade the chairs completely. There were tables and a bar outside, and I’d suggest adding a couple of chairs under the shaded area.

The bed was really hard and the pillows weren’t great, though maybe a firm bed is your thing. The staff were amazing, and the breakfast spread was pretty good. It’s lovely inside and out, with a nice pool and a gift shop selling reasonably priced handmade crafts.
