The hotel is in good condition, but all the dark wood makes it feel very dark inside. Breakfast wasn’t great either, they could at least have offered an omelette for western guests. I would have rated it higher otherwise.

The room setup at night was frustrating: turning off all the lights also switches off the fan. Since I prefer the fan to the dusty air conditioning, and it doesn’t help keep mosquitoes away, I had to leave a light on by the tea and coffee area to keep the fan running. I also found a few tiny bugs in my stew at lunch. There were other shortcomings for a hotel calling itself four-star. The shower water was barely warm, the internet was very poor, there was no steam iron, and tea came without sugar, milk or creamer, though the coffee was 3 in 1. The towels weren’t the cleanest, and staff had difficulty understanding English, making communication a real problem. It didn’t feel worthy of a four-star rating.

The staff were very polite, which was the main plus. The rooms are dated and breakfast isn’t a highlight. For a few dollars more, there are better choices nearby.

There’s a nice, clean swimming pool, and the three-storey hotel resort is decorated with wooden furniture, statues and traditional engraved pictures. There are lots of trees, so there are mosquitoes. Wifi is free, but often so slow that I could barely search Google. Not sure why.
