I've been at Green Stay Village for five weeks and love it. I need quiet to study, and it's been just right. I don't hear the owners or their children, and the short-stay tourists are calm and respectful. There are roosters at the neighbors' place, but we're outside Siem Reap, so that seems normal to me. The owners are welcoming, honest, helpful, and always willing to assist. My room is spacious, clean, modern, and nicely decorated, with a beautiful bathroom, small fridge, air conditioning, fan, and little terrace. The internet works very well, too. The shared kitchen and open common living area are surrounded by plants, pleasant to spend time in, and always spotless. I'm leaving in a few days and highly recommend the place. Thanks again to the owners for such a wonderful stay β€οΈ I wrote this first review three weeks ago: Such a beautiful, clean, quiet homestay! The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The air conditioning and fan work really well, and there's a small fridge in the room. There's also a shared kitchen outside. The owners are so kind and do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. I truly loved staying at Green Stay Village! π€©

This was the loudest place I've ever stayed in S.E.A. I booked it specifically because people described it as peaceful, and was disappointed to find the air conditioning in my room didn't work well. The room itself seemed nice, but then noise started from work happening next door. About half a dozen male workers were drinking, gambling, playing loud music, and cooking on hotel property, as my video shows. There was also karaoke next door until midnight. I got to sleep just before 1 a.m., then the rooster started at 4 or 4:30. There's a chicken coop right in the yard, literally in front of the rooms. The rooster set off the other chickens, and they climbed onto the metal coop, making noise there too. It was a nightmare. When I saw the owner at 5:15 a.m. and asked how often this happened, he said the chickens were there every day. At 5:30 I messaged booking.com to ask for a refund because there was no way I could stay for days. About 20 minutes later, the owner knocked and offered one. He said my laundry hadn't been done, so I could take it with me. It had been the most expensive laundry I'd seen, $2.50 a kg compared with the usual $1-$1.50, and I hadn't received it anyway. I got $57 back from the $67 I paid. I'm glad for the partial refund, but wish I hadn't paid even $1 for such a bad night's sleep. After the owner left, the whole vibe felt like, 'Get out, you've been a problem.' I packed quickly and left. I didn't want to stay, and didn't like being made to feel like the worst person on Earth for being exhausted and unhappy. He also cancelled my booking and told booking.com I was a no-show π How could I have videos and photos of the accommodation and the noise, then? He cancelled it so I couldn't leave a review, but I've had over 520,000 views on Google for my reviews, so I'm leaving this here. I wish someone had told me it was too noisy to sleep. TL;DR, it's a nice place, but incredibly noisy. It might suit someone who can sleep through anything. After being a mother for 26 years, I can't.

The room was really spacious and nice, but being so far out meant we always had to take a tuk-tuk. Roadworks outside, along with a rooster, kept waking me at 4 or 5 a.m. If you want the experience of living like a local, it could be a good fit.

We felt very welcome by the lovely owners, and the price was brilliant. The room was fantastic, and the quiet spot is only a five-minute ride from town. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

A lovely, peaceful little oasis tucked away. We enjoyed the relaxed pace and the warm welcome from the locals, and it would be a nice place to visit with friends or family.
